I get asked all the time what my favorite Instant Pot recipe is. I’ll be honest… picking just one is impossible. But. I have to admit that I use my Instant Pot nine times out of ten to make staples. Things like my Fool Proof Hard Boiled Eggs, Whole Potatoes, Properly Prepared Dried Beans… you get the picture. Lots of things that are otherwise super time consuming or easy to mess up, but made super simple thanks to the Instant Pot. And thanks to this “recipe”, I now have perfect, beautiful brown rice every time. I wrote the recipe based on short grain brown rice, however cook times may vary slightly if using long grain rice. You can use store bought broth or water, but I highly recommend my Better Bone Broth because the flavor is far superior. And as you probably know by now as an Instant Pot user, altitude and personal preference may require a little adjustment also.
No, there is nothing revolutionary about brown rice. We use this whole grain in so many ways and it’s a great staple to have on hand for quick meals. This preparation is packed with flavor and my favorite part — it doesn’t burn when I forget about it! But really, #busybody and I’ve been known to get caught up in too many things at once and burn the rice from time to time. But now that I no longer use the stove, I don’t have to worry! Just set it and forget it!
